Dear CUPE 411 Members:
As we begin bargaining with the employer this year, we are establishing a Strike Committee to ensure our efforts are well-organized and effective. We invite interested members to join the Strike Committee and attend our upcoming training sessions.
Strike Committee Responsibilities:
- Planning and Organizing: Develop a comprehensive strike plan, including logistics, resources, and timelines.
- Picket Line Management: Coordinate and manage picket lines, ensuring safety and order.
- Communication and Public Relations: Handle communications with members, media, and the public to maintain a positive image and keep everyone informed.
- Member Involvement and Engagement: Encourage and support member participation in strike activities.
- Maintaining a Positive Environment: Foster a supportive and positive atmosphere during the strike.
Upcoming Training Session:
To prepare for these responsibilities, CUPE 411 offers training sessions covering the four pillars of a well-run strike: administration, finance/strike pay, communications, and picket schedules.
Training Dates:
- Thursday, April 24, 2025, or
- Friday, April 25, 2025

If you are interested in joining the Strike Committee and attending the training, please email unionoffice@cupe411.ca with your preferred training date.
Additional Information:
- Paid Training: CUPE 411 will cover your wages for the day.
- Location: CUPE 411 office.
- Lunch: Provided during the training.
- Deadline to Apply: Thursday, April 17, 2025, by 4:00 p.m.
CUPE will notify you if you’ve been approved (by Monday April 21, 2025) and provide instructions on how to book the leave in Atrieve.
